Day:9 of my journey Overnight ferry to Italian mainland
Wonderful! By definition this word means full of or having to do with something extraordinary
or surprising. Synonyms include caution, flash, marvel,
miracle, phenomenon, portent, prodigy, and sensation. One might use this to describe a day where everything goes right. Perfect!
This was the perfect word to describe my wonderful day.
Palmero was awesome. The mosques, churches, palaces, fountains, theaters, and monasteries
were amazing. The fountains were very beautiful and metaphoric. The theaters were large and impressive with great acoustics.
The churches were grand and covered in marble, and stained glass. And though we did not go inside of them I could tell the
palaces were very upscale large and impressive.
The pizzeria was definately a new experience. We were given dough to flatted it out into circles. I watched
in hilarity as the man took away some of the other delegate's pizzas saying,"No pizza" and giving them another
ball of dough. In the end half of our pizzas were made by the restraunt staff. We ate our lunch quickly and then we
were off to the beach.
At the beach, I forgot t bring a towel, so instead of diving in, I watched others
jumped into the perfectly cool water. I didn't envy them though, because I didn't have to dry off before entering
the bus!
We slowly got into the ferry and I was matched with John Anderson, Alex, and Matt. We
searched the entire ferry before we found our room. We quickly unpacked our bags and met in the lounge for our meeting. After
that we were set for free time. We all met in the main room. In the middle of the room there was a dance floor where two Italian
boys started break dancing. They seemed like brothers. One of them looked like he was about sixteen and the other looked thirteen.
We watched in awe as they did their complex footwork and flips. We all joked around by joining them on the dance floor. They
would do a cartwheel into a back flip and I would do a somersault. They would do the wave and I would flap my arms randomly.
It felt as if the older one had a good laugh about it but the younger one seemed almost fed up with me, so I headed up to
our room for some sleep. What a wonderful end to a wonderful day.
